- Lawrence Mestel CEO of Primary Wave Music -

"Holly has stayed true to her 'rocker chick' roots since she was a teenager, and her enormous talent ,combined with an intense passion and drive have never left her. Her body of work stands tall among the all time greats of rock n roll music. Everyday, everywhere in the world, someone is listening to a Holly Knight classic."
- Brendon Okrent VP Creative ASCAP -

"Holly Knight's songs are the sort of songs that Tina loves to perform.... very provocative, a bit cheeky, and she sounds a bit naughty herself. And the lyrics, Holly just seems to hit it on the head every time."
- Roger Davies RDM Management (Tina Turner)

"Holly Knight is one of the pure songwriters of our time who transcends trends and fads. Her craft is real and timeless, and her songs will remain in the public's mind long after most of the songs of today's producers and beatmasters fade out into the sunset."

Holly has collaborated with many other songwriters and recording artists over the years, although she feels strongly that chemistry is a huge component to the collaboration process. Her own bands, Spider and Device both had top forty hits, while Device was on MTV's heavy-rotation playlist for four consecutive months. She has sung and performed on many albums, including backup vocals for Tina Turner, Rod Stewart and Heart. Her songs have been featured in box-office smashes such as Thelma and Louise, Visionquest, Legend of Billie Jean, Mad Max-Beyond The Thunderdome, Stewart Little II, Thirteen Going On Thirty, What The Bleep, and hit TV shows such as Nip Tuck, The Singing Bee, American Idol, Oprah Winfrey, The Simpsons, Family Guy, 30 Rock, South Park, and most recently The Voice finale, culminating with a stellar duet of Love Is A Battlefield with Cee Lo and one of the final contestants.

In 2002, Holly produced and co-wrote the title theme song for the hugely popular cult TV show, Angel. She then went on to write and produce the title theme song for the CBS hit sitcom, Still Standing, which received the ASCAP award for recognition as one of the top TV music themes of 2003, as well as the same award again in 2004.

A New York City native, Holly started studying classical piano at age four, continuing her studies for ten years. She was being groomed as a concert pianist, but she had other plans. By the time she reached her teens she was sneaking out of the house at night to see rock bands perform. "I loved the outrageous lifestyle and rebelliousness of rock and roll. It suited my personality. The juxtaposition of classical and hard rock just seemed to work for me, and to this day it plays a very strong role in my songwriting style At home, while I was growing up, I was exposed to all kinds of music., not just classical, but Broadway plays by Lerner and Lowe, Rodgers and Hammerstein, songs by Cole Porter, World Music...everything from Ravi Shankar and Jamaican Ska, Calypso, Greek Music, to Irish and Italian crooners, just a potpourri of musical influences. At the same time, I discovered The Doors, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Motown, Memphis Stax, Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Queen ... from there I just went full throttle down the rabbit hole.'

Holly signed her first record and publishing deal when she was twenty with well known songwriter/producer, Mike Chapman and Dreamland Records/Polygram, She cites Chapman as being her mentor and together they wrote a string of hits over a short period of time. Next, she signed a six year publishing deal with EMI Publishing, and after turning down the opportunity to resign a third deal with EMI, she decided it was time to publish herself. Her first company, Knightlife Music was very successful and in 2007 she sold half her catalogue for an undisclosed amount to a highly respected and elite independent publishing and marketing company called Primary Wave Music . She now co-owns her earlier catalogue with Primary Wave whose function is to tastefully market her tunes. After the catalogue sale, she formed a new publishing company, Good Knight Songs, her present company. She uses Wixen Music Publishing to administer both her present and former catalogue.

Recently Holly has written with or for Zander Bleck, Antonia Bennett, Cherie Currie, Rev Theory, Hawk Nelson, The Donnas, Porcelain Black, Otep, Sick Puppies, Hunter Valentine, Meatloaf, Paul Stanley, Leigh Nash, Less Than Jake, Fefe Dobson, and Sugababes, to name a few. In addition to writing, Holly has been actively pursuing her production career full time. She coproduced tracks for Otep, Porcelain and Fefe Dobson. Recently she finished producing the debut pop record for Antonia Bennett, daughter of legendary singer, Tony Bennett, as well as Antonia's first jazz EP, Natural and the eagerly awaited followup jazz record of American standards on Universal Records. Holly's ability to move from one genre to the next has given her a thirty year career span in music, yet if you were to ask the songstress what her next move is, she would say she has only just begun.

Holly has another emerging passion, art photography . In her spare time she has traveled all over the world, capturing photographic moments . Look for an exhibit of her work in 2012 and visit her photographic website, hollyknightphotography.com .

In addition to her various ongoing projects, Holly has begun doing Master Songwriting and Production Classes, as well as special engagements involving lectures and mentoring at Universities and Music Institutions throughout the country. She enjoys sharing her stories, experiences and feedback with young emerging artists.
